The Kings Head, Tooting

Popped in the other week to catch end of the F1, staff were helpful, happy to put it on for us. Lovely building, good food and reasonable prices for London, but the cask was awful. Cloudy and with a terrible aftertaste. Certainly wouldn't advise visiting for the cask.

Jacaranda, Liverpool

was back in Liverpool for the night on friday and went with a bunch of mates from all over the country. hadn't been for years, still has a great buzz, jukeboxes still have great selections.
unfortunately they've altered the upstairs toilet, the gents is now incredibly "cosy" and has lost all the quotes that used to be written at the top of the walls. presumably some kinda PC thing that they've got to offer the same number of toilets to both genders, but i was glad that i knew both of the blokes who were in there when i needed the loo.
would still recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent place to have a drink, is especially good for a starting venue as the atmosphere's great.

Hartigan's, Dublin

Was taken to Hartigan's by my cousin in the middle of a sunny Tuesday afternoon 18 months ago to experience "The Best Guinness In Dublin" and whilst there was told stories of how his brother had managed to be barred twice, and how my uncle had spent most of his student days there. Apparently the decor has been the same since then, although the classic advertising for the local tipples is enjoyable, and the location is away from the madding crowds of St Stephen's green.
Will definately visit again next time i'm in Dublin, and will hopefully learn more about my family's history in the pub.

Eden Arms, Edenthorpe

This pub is brilliant with excellent food and patient, friendly staff. Drinks were fairly priced and they three staff working last Sunday when a group of about 30 of us turned up wanting feeding managed to deal with us competently and fully professionally. If you're in the area and looking for somewhere to have a quiet drink (no TVs visible when we were there and there was an FA cup semi on at the time) or a decent meal then you won't be disapointed if you choose The Eden Arms.
