The Old Bank, Sutton

£4.05 for a San Miguel?! It's only £3 at the Belmont Carvery less than a mile away. I'm already paying higher rates for the rail, why would I want to pay higher rates just to have a pint next to it? Pass!

The Sir Percy Florence Shelley, Boscombe

good ole cheap pints, friendly customers and good condiments :) nice garden, shame it can't be bigger.

Urban Beach Hotel, Boscombe

too expensive! 4 for a pint of red stripe? come on! you can't even see the beach from here! "four in a bed" had the manager going on about his million quid debt so i guess that explains the prices :/ not our fault you're in debt :p otherwise, nice staff, interesting enough decor but how about covering the deck during rain and uncovering it during sun, not the other way around, lol...

The Cellar Bar, Boscombe

chaplin's- far too expensive. customers should not have to pay for your choice in kitschy decor.
cellar bar- better! very knowledgeable barman! wish we could have seen a band, there. left the next day :/

and the goldfish by the stairs, on the way down to the cellar bar, need to go. what a miserable existence! especially with bellends throwing cigarette ends into their water...

O'Neills, Sutton

refurb didn't include the toilets?? unbelievable! that's where change was needed the most!

The Cock and Bull, Sutton

my comment got removed, funny that, let's try again: since the new management, the prices have gone up, customer service has gone down and staff turnover is rising- coincidence? i don't think so.

The Revolution Bar, Sutton

very good food and drink, specials regularly on. friendly staff. good music on overhead. go before 8pm and it's absolutely fine.

Ye Olde Red Lion, Cheam

not enough choice of lager but good enough food, friendly staff and great outdoor area!

The Railway Hotel, Cheam

good, decently priced booze. friendly staff and customers. fun quiz! shame about the lack of space.

The Alexandra, Wimbledon

terrible, overpriced "food"!

The Globe Inn, Chichester

odd vibe among the staff and customers, i guess regulars... but good beer, nice layout, insanely huge tv, lol and nice garden!

The Regent, Walton on Thames

was in this 'spoons a few months ago (just now got reminded to post this review!) and ordered the nachos. they were served cold. when i told the server he had no clue what to do but offer a free coffee. would that be cold, too? he went to see what else he could do then came back out and said the "chef" said they're supposed to be served cold. um, no they are not. why would the cheese be melted then? insane! i still laugh about it everytime i see nachos... cold. good grief! anyway! hope the new manager has sorted out the cooking help :)

The Belmont, Sutton

this place has been on the decline since the last refurb... indifferent, moody staff, never any loo roll, heads too large on overpriced beers, and constant presence of seedy characters that seem to live by the bar. it's nice to have so as to not have to go to sutton town centre but that's about it. manager needs to find some concern for this place or pass it on to someone who will. oh, and the food is generally crap, too. 3 tries and you're out!

yeah, i've been going here for years and the attitudes of a lot of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. it seems if staff are new, they are friendly, but after being there a while, obtain the same pouty face and "don't bother me while i'm at work" attitude as the longer lasting staff. don't like your job? go get another one and stop bringing other people's days down :p

otherwise, nice pub! and anyways, the friendliness (or lack of) of bar staff doesn't matter too much to me. i get my drink and i go away- all of one minute out of my day. not there to make friends with the help...

The Windsor Castle, Carshalton

agree about the decor (dated!), limited vegetarian options on the menu and the staff could be a lot more friendly. i have my husband get the drinks when we go because i fear the staff! ;) very clicquey. if you don't like your job, please find another one. in the end, i ignore them as i have friends to hang out and share smiles, laughs with- don't *need* bar staff for that....
