There are worst pubs on the planet, unfortunately in this area you don't have to look very far.

Lord Beechings, Aberystwyth

All the atmosphere of your local Argos showroom....AVOID

7 Aug 2007 19:28

The Ferryman and Firkin, Southampton

I think the beer must be brewed by Sarsons

6 Jul 2007 21:18

Yr Hen Orsaf, Aberystwyth

Surprizingly good ale . Horrid clientele and poor service

6 Jul 2007 21:14

The Fountain, Aberystwyth

6 Jul 2007 21:09

The Orangery, Aberystwyth

Only visit this place if you are a pretentious tw*t and want similar company

The Ship and Castle, Aberystwyth

Not easy to get a decent standard pint here.....twee beers from micro-breweries that taste like por quality home brew....best avoided by the traditional beer lover...

6 Jul 2007 21:05

The Coopers Hotel (Y Cwps), Aberystwyth

this used to be a character pub......But...a re-furb and a change of management has disimproved the place!

6 Jul 2007 21:02

The Nags Head, Aberystwyth

deceptively roomy.....very busy late on Fri/Sat nights......one of the few "local"pubs that opens 12 lunchtime....excellent service........takes a while to be accepted by locals, but well worth persevering...good beer garden & function room...surprisingly moreish hand-pulled beers....serves pickled eggs!!

The Swan, Woolston

The Rockstone, Southampton

This used to a friendly little pub with good beer.

Not anymore

31 Dec 2005 19:53

The Pensioners Arms, Southampton

Beer can be dodgy, but all in all, a nice atmosphere

31 Dec 2005 19:50

The New Inn, Southampton

Yes this pub is now much better than the Bevois; Alas not because it has improved, rather the bevois has lost it.

If you must drink Gales god-forsaken beers, this is as good a place as any,and has a reasonable atmosphere

31 Dec 2005 19:47

The Guide Dog, Bevois Valley

ok boozer

31 Dec 2005 19:44

Rummers, Aberystwyth

Poncey boozer with over-priced second-rate beer

31 Dec 2005 19:29

Yr Hen Orsaf, Aberystwyth

Despite the aforementioned---- This place is crap

31 Dec 2005 19:28

The Cambrian Hotel, Aberystwyth

You need to wear a pit helmet to read your newspaper__ it's that dark! Beer tolerable but expensive for area

Why do pubs in Aber use sparklets on the Real Ales thus killing what should be an enjoyable drink!?!

31 Dec 2005 19:27

The Hyde Tavern, Winchester

No food, a proper pub. Probably the oldest pub in England ( people from Nottingham__ please don't argue)

31 Dec 2005 19:22

The Bridge, Birmingham New Street station

This is the only place on the station you are allowed to smoke---thus above comments slightly unfair----that said it's pretty dire!!!

31 Dec 2005 19:06

The Avon Causeway Inn, Hurn

This used to be a gem; why must they ruin every decent boozer?

28 Nov 2005 19:40

The Wykeham Arms, Winchester

This used to be the best local in Winchester, but now it's full of pretentious gits, avoid at all costs!

4 Nov 2005 20:07

White Swan, Winchester

This is a nice friendly pub, decent beer and big portions of food( if you like that sort of thing).Convenient for station and city centre, but not so well known that it gets packed.

4 Nov 2005 20:04

The Richmond Inn, Portswood

A cracking Vistorian till in the lounge, good beer not too studenty

4 Nov 2005 19:55

The Freemantle Arms, Freemantle

A little gem, not quite unspoilt but still OK

4 Nov 2005 19:53

The Coopers Hotel (Y Cwps), Aberystwyth
