The Golden Lion, Kings Cross

It's now re-opened as the Kings Cross Social Club. Looking great, nice cocktails, a very useful addition in that area. At the moment they're doing meat or veg platters, not sure if there will be a full kitchen. Definitely worth a try...

Shakespeare, Stoke Newington

More of a local but definitely well worth a visit. Great free jukebox most days. Very Stokey!

The Birdcage, Stoke Newington

Really good pub with friendly staff, good music and good food. Can get quite packed (just like the Londesborough)

Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington

Dodgy place but better than what used to be Bar Lorca or Efes, agree. Late license is really the only reason to go since they removed the table football. Karaoke on Wednesdays.

The Eye, Stoke Newington

Ho hum really... some very interesting bands, bad accoustics, kinda soulless interior. Vietnamese food on offer but I haven't been able to figure out when the kitchen's open. Friendly staff and the one of the very few music venues in Stokey. Worth it.

The White Hart, Stoke Newington

Best and biggest beer garden in Stokey. Bit dodgy crowd sometimes and one of the most annoying (and loud) DJs ever. Superb in summer, best avoided in Winter I'd say.

The Londesborough, Stoke Newington

Sister pub to The Birdcage. Very nice place, good beer garden, but come early or you'll be left standing... the place gets extremely packed. Good DJs sometimes.

Ryan's Bar, Stoke Newington

Good Thai food, good beergarden, friendly staff, Tattoo John from the Alabama 3 is DJing every Sunday. Good place really.

The Lion, Stoke Newington

Has grown on me quite a bit recently but they're just getting new management and all the bar staff are leaving... let's see what happens. Nice place really, open mic on Wednesdays (they lost Mel's music quiz to the Prince), bit soulless beer garden, good DJs some Sundays. No kitchen but they order you food from any takeaway around.

Defoe, Stoke Newington

Shunned by many in Stokey but (sorta) recently started serving great pub food. Nice small beer garden too.

Auld Shillelagh, Stoke Newington

Used to be my local & favourite but has recently gone downhill a bit. Still some of the best Guinness and Irish music around. Nice one, Tom!

Bar 98, Stoke Newington

Lifeless place that would do better in Islington. Food used to be good but the whole place has gone downhill so fast I haven't been back for a long time.

Booth's Cafe Bar, Stoke Newington

Best pizza in Stokey but doesn't offer much else... dodgy crowd in the pub downstairs, ok restaurant area upstairs, nice outside seating, friendly staff.

The Prince, Stoke Newington

This is an amazing pub with great food, a superb music quiz on Tuesdays and a really friendly atmosphere. One of the best in Stokey! Higly recommended!
