Not one of the best Islington bars, which is why it was turned into a Spanish restaurant some 4 years ago.. Therefore it would be nice if the site Admin ever got round to cleaning all this rubbish off that they actually update this one and show it as closed

Bar 98 closed a while back - which was no sad loss - and is now a Spanish restaurant.

This place has changed a few times over the years but never for the better, really. It's too shiny and mirrored now, it wants desperately to be a Hoxton wine bar but it just doesn't fit in on Church St. It's expensive and so rarely busy, it's only saving grace is its 2am licence, but at weekends there's better places to be in Stoke Newington.

Went in here on a first date recently on a Tuesday night ... not your usual venue I admit but it was the date's choice. Had a couple of pints and although it wasn't busy seemed okay. Though reading the comment from the previous visitor maybe the usual clientele wouldn't appreciate gay first dates happening on a regular basis!
