No Pool table anymore, but a nice quite pub, with great meals

Went back to see if things had improved. My wife had cheesey garlic bread (black at the edges) and chips (overdone and dry). Looks like it hasn't then!

35 years I've lived in Monkseaton and I still can't get served at the bar, walked out again for the umpteenth time without being served

The breakfasts are out of this world, all freshly cooked food and plenty of it.
A really nice pub to sit and relax in , staff are very friendly.

we went in for lunch only to be told the manager was at Morrisons. Waited a while for him to return but the food wasn't very good

we asked for our main courses only to be told we havent got that and we havent got that either. My wife sent her steak back twice for being tough. Got black looks from members of staff

Went in for lunch (17/11/10) to see if the food was any better, the chilli con carne was average and not a very big portion.

The pub has been recently refurbished and all the locals from the bar have gone elswhere. The dart board has been removed so what am I going to do now?

The pub now has a new Landlord and is slowly getting back to normal again. I have sampled the food and it is excellent, if you don't mind waiting.
