Under-utilised pool table and dodgy Brazil penalty in the World Cup opener...
...that said a deceptively large pub, good beer, and impressive quantities of body art on display. More TVs than a Currys superstore.

A sociable, friendly and warm pub. Excellent company in a jovial atmosphere. A limited selection of ales and only a two larger's on tap, but they concentrate on quality over quantity. A hidden gem of a pub, with comfy chairs and off the beaten track and well worth a visit... If you order a Guinness though, you may need to remind them to finish off after they leave it to settle.

We were delivered here from the Cricketers! Refurb looking good apart from the gents and slightly unsure of bottles behind protective cage. However on the most important topic good choice of beer and very friendly staff. Like the Welly but you can bring a lady.

We need to reserve judgement - views ranged from who is the Mike Atherton lookalike to Deliverance...not helped by the lack of beer following a punishing 6 nations weekend. Good staff, plenty of character and one to return to on a match day.

A jazz pub - nice! Folk jam session is first Thursday of the month...sadly we arrived on the second Thursday...
We like it - well kept beer, great ciders, pork scratching and a women knitting at the bar, what's not to like? A good vibe if you want a chat with your mates and unwind. You'll enjoy spending some time here.

Great village pub better for food than beer. Unfortunately beer not well kept which is a real shame. Definitely worth a visit for the beer garden in the summer but stick to the lager. Crisps are addictive

Clearly we were not alone in wanting somewhere to contemplate how we would face the year ahead. Judging by the numbers at the bar, contemplating will involve drinking top quality beer and cider - in this part of Bedford at least. Friendly staff and a very relaxed atmosphere make the Wellington Arms a great place to catch up with friends and wile away somewhat more time than originally planned - tremendous!
