The Kings Arms, Soho

Obnoxious little man behind the bar last night at 6pm, I asked for a pint and tried to have a little banter about the weather with the barman, who snapped at me. Back in your kennel snappy little dog, you're not that pretty !

Comptons Of Soho, Soho

WHAT HAS HAPPENED ? Awful !!! Bar Staff with absolute attitude. Not too busy when I walked in, but took an eternity to be served. One barman looked at me, I asked for a pint and he sneered at me as he was wiping the bar down telling me 'don't you think I'm busy at the moment ?'. Stop mincing around in ripped tops discussing each others facial hair and concentrate on the customers paying over the top prices for not brilliantly kept bitter.

Staff are clearly employed for their looks (or age) rather than brain power. Obnoxious and Rude, One in particular cannot speak or understand a word of English. A 'bear' pub with 'twinks' behind the bar ? I don't get it... It took me over 5 minutes to get this twink to understand that I just wanted ONE PINT OF BEER. He had no idea what I was asking for and even suggested I had asked for a pint of vodka ?!?! One bar twink was clearly on drugs given his disappearance down to the toilets and coming up wiping his nose and sudden energetic burst to clear glasses from around the bar... Beer OK. Staff let this pub down.

The White Swan, Twickenham

Simply Fantastic. Best pub night out in a long time. Nice friendly service, Great beer, it was a bit chilly outside, the barman asked if we'd like the heaters on outside, nothing was to much trouble. Food looked good and service great, a peaceful evening watching the river float by while enjoying a beer. Thanks ! 10/10

The Misty Moon, Twickenham

Saturday night, same old same old. Nice pint of Broadside and only 2.10 But this pub leaves you feeling you'd like to go home for a shower. What you get is what you pay for I guess.

The Chelsea Ram, Chelsea

Odd place, a bit like watching TV in your Nan's living room... all floral and twee. Had a pint of Pride, well several actually... poured well enough, service was ok, so worth staying as we had a table in what was a very busy night. Can't complain all in all... just a bit too flowery in decor.

The Builders Arms, Chelsea

Looking for a pub to watch the England game, we called in here... Wrong ! Rather 'jolly hockey sticks' than football. Clean (almost clinical), pint of Pride, well poured, good head, friendly staff but felt out of place in my footie top.

The Town Wharf, Old Isleworth

I'd forgotten this pub existed. Unmarked and off the beaten track. Clean inside but has the feel of one of the old Harvester pubs. Pint of Sam Smiths Old Brewery Bitter. Clean glass, good head, nice pint. Decent price to ! Not many places in Isleworth you can find a pint under 3. Bar staff happy and welcoming. What you see is what you get, it's not a pretentious pub but it's not a pub I'd want to spend the whole night in.

The Swan Inn, Old Isleworth

Oh Dear. I expected this pub to have turned around since my last visit... The minute I walked in I could smell damp and stale beer. Dog running loose around the bar. I went to the toilet, no toilet paper. Took one look at the bar and walked back out again. Shame.

The London Apprentice, Old Isleworth

Called in from a meeting just down the road. Fairly packed at 6pm, took a while to be served. Emphasis seems to be on food rather than beer early in the evening. Pint of St Austell Tribute. Clean glass, well poured and then knocked on the beer pump as passed over to me resulting in a short pint, no attempt was taken to top it back up. Sat outside alongside the river. 'Garden' full of businessmen on mobiles talking loudly. All in all, not the best visit.

The Beehive, Brentford

My last pub passing through Brentford... I wish I hadn't have bothered. Awful place. It took ages to get served. The glass was dirty. Thought I'd play safe with a Pride. Flat head and slightly tainted. Pub too loud. Smokers outside the front door allow smoke to blow back in. General feeling of being made unwelcome.

The Brewery Tap, Brentford

Visited here given the previous posting of new management. I've been here before long ago, enjoyed the music and 'local' feel. Nothings changed... the beer is still good. I had a pint of Seafarer my bud had a pint of Butcombe (must have been a guest ale ?). Glasses a little water marked but poured well. Slight to much head for my liking. Live music was great. Two negatives... the air freshener from the toilets can be smelt throughout the bar, quite off putting, it's far to strong. The barman (or landlord maybe ?) is clearly gay. I'm not anti-gay but I don't like being called 'love' and having my arm squeezed by the bloke that's served my beer. He appeared to have have a few to many beers himself... not sure what is going on here. I rate this only a 5 as the over friendliness gave me the creeps.

The Six Bells, Brentford

I hadn't realised that this pub had opened again. Looking Good ! Clean, Tidy and Welcoming. Landlord is very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. I had a pint of Seafarers and my bud a pint of Pride. Well kept and decent head. Clean glasses. Nice clear pint, this landlord knows his cellar. Keen to try the food next visit, seems a bit fish orientated though... Well worth a visit !
