The Albion, Hampton Court

I have visited this pub regularly for over 6 years and positives are: reasonable pricing and that the locals frequent it en masse.
One constant negative is the surly unfriendly bar staff, its as if it is passed it on to every new member of staff like a badge.

The Albany, Thames Ditton

Have visited a couple of times at the weekend with baby in buggy, able to get round to the river side and have a couple of pints in superb riverside setting. watching boats moor for a quick a drink and move on adds to the 'on the river' atmosphere.
the prices are high and the food well overpriced, we waited an hour for a table and then it took so long for anyone to even acknowledge us nevermind take our order that we gave up and walked out, at those prices I would expect excellent service but they were busy so probably don't care anyway.
the interior lacked atmosphere and it all had a restaurant kind of feel to it but worth a visit just to sit by the river with a cool pint on a summers day.

The Devonshire Arms, Marylebone

Awful management, completely lacked any idea of customer service when I (politely) commented on the poor quality of my very expensive pint, don't bother with this uninspiring bland pub.

The Pontefract Castle, Marylebone

This pub is very hit and miss.
The lager is sometimes flat warm and in a dirty glass, other times it's fine and reasonably priced for the location. The food (and I have eaten there many times over the years) can vary from one extreme to other. It has often turned up late, incomplete, cold and bland, occasionaly it's great. Often understaffed so a long wait for your order but staff are nearly always friendly. Thieves love this place and a visit will always involve witnessing the distress of a victim. I think despite the naivety and carelessness of some customers in leaving their belongings at risk, the pub could do more. It must be the same gang again and again and CCTV and more vigilant staff could help (maybe a bouncer on the door would recognize regular thieves). No football on TV anymore :-(, rubbish place to put the quiz machine (by door)as well, to be honest I only drink there because it's near work.

The Gunmakers, Marylebone

The Landlord has made a great effort to create a perfect English/London pub. St Georges Day and Christmas Day were exceptional. Pearly Kings, Chelsea pensioners and a Brass Band playing the national anthem, Land of Hope & Glory etc. 61" Plasma for the football and the audio is always on for live games. A big effort made to produce traditional english food (even bread & dripping on the menu) and all meals I've had have been fair to excellent. The lager always tastes good and a good bunch or regulars make a good atmosphere, also plenty of families sampling the menu on a Sunday.
