The Plough, Norwood Green

Further to my last review (2006 I think) it's pleasing to see The Plough keeping up the good work. Food, drink, ambience and staff are all great. Including Tansy.

Harry is charming, if a tad eccentric.

The Moon Under Water, Hounslow

Always has a good selection of well kept beer. Additionally, I have eaten here a fair bit and never had a bad meal. Yesterday's was exceptional - many places charging three times as much cannot manage a blue steak but, seemingly, Wetherspoons can.

The staff are always pleasant and serve customers in turn rather than who shouts loudest.

The clientele are a mixed bunch tending towards an older crowd. Occasionally some may get a bit noisy, but the Manager keeps this in check so the atmosphere is friendly rather than intimidating.

The Express Tavern, Kew Bridge

The exterior doesn't give much away, but this is a real jewel of a pub. The interior is traditional, but that is not used as an excuse for not cleaning...the pub and the ladies were both clean (can't vouch for the gents).

The real ale is excellent as noted by previous posters. Mr Bunting had lager, fiend that he is, and enjoyed that too.

Nice to see a selection of books around a pub as well.

The Scottish woman serving was lovely, but I'm now disappointed we didn't meet Gordon.

The White Swan, Richmond

Not impressed on last visit. The food was not as good as previously and now seems seriously overpriced, as is the winelist.

A shame as it is a lovely pub and the staff appear to have cheered up.

The Black Horse, Hounslow

Shabby but friendly. As Kollantai said, vastly improved.

The food is unbelievably good value.

Nice to be able to play pool & the two tables don't appear to attract any bad attitudes.

The Red Lion, Isleworth

Faultless.

Excellent beer. Friendly staff. Most locals represent the better class of drunk.

The past quizzes were fiendishly hard, but it would be mean to deduct marks just because I'm not that knowledgable.

The Plough, Norwood Green

A joy to go to. Food, drink and staff all lovely.

I've never been disappointed with the food and have worked my way through the menu as it has changed. Everyone I've gone with has enjoyed themselves too.

The beer garden is pleasant in nice weather and the non-smoking dining room is great for those who enjoy eating in a smoke free environment. That said, it is still a proper pub - a compliment, not a detraction.

Popular with Chelsea supporters, but not in a way that ruins anyone else's evening.
