The Hen and Chicken, Upper Froyle

Very friendly staff and an extensive menu. Beers are all badger; Tanglefoot, First Gold and a guest. In addition there is K&B Sussex.

Nice roaring fire on a cold winters day makes this a very welcoming pub

The Rising Sun, Epsom

Good range of beers and wines plus a very good menu. The staff are vey attentive and helpful.

Well worth a visit in a quiet street just out of the town centre.

The Fox, Kinsbourne Green

Stopped off here on the way to football and very please with the ambience of the place.

Real ale a bit short of choice with only Timothy Taylor Landlord, but plenty of lager choices. I guess it meets their market demands as the clientele was not of the pie and pint brigade.

The home made pizza's were good and certaily filled a big hole.

Good place to go to meet friends and have a chat over bottles of wine and a decent meal.

The Parrot Inn, Forest Green

Been here twice in quick succession, once for a Friday lunch and again for a late Sunday pint. Found the staff very pleasant and helpful.

The range of beers is good and they are well kept, tried both Ringwood and Young's.

The food was excellent, had the Lamb ad=nd Corriander burger which was obviously home made and very well presented.

With regards to the 'shop', as someone else said it's right for the area, you don't have to buy.

The locals can be a bit 'up themselves' and see the place as their own rather than welcoming strangers. Can't hold that against the landlord though.

The Montague Inn, Shepton Montague

A little gem in the middle of the somerset countryside.

The food is absolutely excellent and the waitress very charming. I had the local venison casserole with local vegetables and it was gorgeous.(10.50)

Washed down with a well kept pint of Bath Gem. There were 2 or 3 other handpump beers to choose from.

If you are in the area this is definitely worth a visit, don't baulk at the price you definitely get value for money.

The Horse And Groom, East Ashling

Stopped off for a midweek lunch between appointments and this place is obviously a haunt for the local hoi poloy.

A good choice of beers on offer, I had a Harveys but not one I recognise (or remember) along with a baguette and salad. Possibly a little on the high side price wise but the beer was not expensive.

Waitresses / Bar staff were ok not over friendly but also a little indifferent except for the guy who was very cheerful.

Would definitely go again

The Plough, Cobham

Very nice backwater pub frequented by the local wealthy 'doddery brigade'.

Pleasant bar staff, good service and choice of beer.

The sandwich I had was nice but well overpriced.

Not a lot of parking spaces so wise to get there early.

The Victoria and Albert, Netherhampton

A lovely old pub with uneven floors and low door openings.

I had a bacon sandwich for lunch which was stuffed full of bacon and with a large side salad included.

Beers were excellent, can't remember them all but a good choice and well kept.

Well worth a visit if you are anywhere near Salisbury

Good varied menu at reasonable prices.

The Jolly Farmer, Worplesdon

Nice pub especially for a lunchtime. The food was great, I had the homemade burger which was cooked just right and well seasoned.

Still mainly Fullers and Gales (which is now Fullers) but a good choice and homely atmosphere.

Staff were pleasant and friendly, will definitely go back again

The Alehouse, Reading

This is a great drinking pub. Don't go expecting haute cuisine and outstanding decor.

There is always a range of ales which are well kept and could provide you with a very merry evenin out if you tried each one!

Very small and homely with some uniques alcoves towards the back.

This is a place for serious ale heads!!

The New Inn, Strafield Saye

Went to this pub for the first time last weekend. It was very quiet for a Saturday Lunch at 1.30. Nonetheless the landlady was cheerful and helpful. The beer is Hall and Woodhouse although there was a guest King & Barnes which was very well kept.

Food was quick in arriving and reasonably priced for typical pub fayre. The menu was small but varied catering for traditional and something special. Sunday Roasts are 6.95

Worth a visit

The White Hart, Sherfield on Loddon

Very nice pub with excellent food. Not an extensive menu but enough for there to be a reasonable choice. Mainly Young's bitters and what is not on the hand pump you can get in a bottle.

Lovely roaring fires in the bar areas.

The Bramley Inn, Bramley

Good friendly pub which has had a chequered past. Now caters for many tastes. Good choice of guest ales and food menu looks reasonable although I have not tried this yet.
