I occasionally go in here to eat at lunch time, both in the Week and at the Weekend. Nothing has really changed since Strongers review in March 2009. Its a chain pub with average food, often lots of Kids when the weather is nice so if your looking for some peace and quiet this is not the place.

There is the usual array of larger and "Production" bitter on offer, nothing in the way of guest Ales that I have seen, the spoons on Darkes Lane is a better bet for Ale.

The thing that really lets this pub down is the Staff, some are extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble however there are a few that are surly and unfriendly; they really let the side down!

The food is OK, but unfortunately they don't sell proper beer.

Simply awful. Shocking service, appalling food and horrendous beer. It is amazing to find a place with such utter contempt for its clientele in 2011.

Avoid this place like the plague - very unfriendly/surly staff, bad beer, kids running wild, inedible food, car park that charges you for the privilege of parking in it (the first pub I have ever seen this at), just don't go there.

This is indeed now a Harvester and unsurprisingly last Sunday afternoon it was packed with screaming kids and large groups standing at the bar. The one good thing is that most people in here had young children so everyone was in the same boat.

Old Speckled Hen is available on draught along with a large selection of standard lagers and San Miguel.

I didnt stay long as my brain started to hurt, but it is good to know that there is somewhere to take the kids in a couple of years and I wont be expected to keep my eye on them.
