Lovely looking pub. However owners are Racist and its a very rough pub with the locals.
The landlady hates Londoners. Evidently with a passion as we found out.
Both 8oz steaks were over cooked. (Photos were taken as evidence.)
Half pint prawn starter has eggs in every prawn, disgusting!
Landlady argued that there wasn't anything wrong with the food. She shouted at us on our anniversary.
We didn't argue back, just left in tears.
I will write to the Hoo Village Voices to voice these disturbing experiences.

We walked from Rochester and this pub on a sunny Sunday afternoon was well worth the journey.

Nice selection of ales, good service and a fine meal, we were slightly disappointed that they were only serving cold food after our trek but what it was was very enjoyable.

This lovely old pub is situated next door to Upnor Castle. Pleasant, old-fashioned interior with no gimmicks or modernisation. Spacious beer garden at rear. Large number of Shepherd Neame ales on hand-pump. We tried Kent's Best and Whitstable Bay and both were excellent. Service efficient and very friendly. Highly recommended 10/10

As mentioned by others, the Tudor Rose is very deceptive and far larger than you think. You can't drive to this pub, you have to park in the car park at the top of the hill and walk down the old cobbled street towards Upnor Castle.

A fully loaded Shepard Neame pub, I don't drink beer so its all wasted on me.. However my boyfriend does and he was happy. The staff are very friendly and service was very good.

The menu is pretty good and the food we had was way better than my expectations (having previously eaten at the Pier in the Village anything would be better!). The wait for food was short and served nicely.

Not sure if child friendly but the garden at the back is very nice and we had a great few hours at the Tudor. A recommended Pub

On my recent soujourn to the Medway I decided to try and vist as many GBG pubs as possible (or the missus would allow being the designated driver)

I visited this pub the same afternoon as the excellent Kings Arms at the top of the high street. This pub is situated near the bank of the river right next to Upnor Castle.

Going into the pub I noticed 2 old boys propping up the bar and by the shade of red there faces were I guessed that the beer was good.

This pub has the entire range of Shepherd Neame beers. This is excellent for a lot of drinkers but unfortunately for me I am not a massive fan of their beers (give me a pride over a spitfire any day of the week) except Earlybird which is seasonal so wasnt on.

Garden here is excellent. Didnt eat anything but the food smelled fantastic. This place gets 7 out of 10 from me. It would have got an 8 or a 9 if they had had a couple of guest beers
