Popped in for a last pint of a heavy night. Only one real ale on. Can't remember what it was but not one I had seen before. Well kept and about £3.50 from memory.

Reasonable pub, Birmingham's 'other' Wellington is opposite a music venue so serves as a pre-gig pub for it but does lagers and one real ale (at time of visit) and is quite relaxed and has a decent atmosphere at other times.

The shaven headed barmen looked like startled rabbits under the onslaught of scary metalheads.....God knows what they`d have done if Manowar, the Metal kings, came in with their swords of steel ready to pillage and destroy (someone had beaten `em to it in the bogs!). Anyway 3.50 for a Guiness in this place was a veritable bargain compared with the 4.20 garbage at the O2.

Made an unplanned visit last night due to mammoth queues outside the O2 for the Manowar gig. Place was full of metallers, giving a cracking atmosphere. A couple of points to the management. If you are charging 3.50 for a (decent tasting) Guinness, then don't rip the punters off even more by leaving a 2 inch head on it. Second, if you are going to put up food menus in the gents, employ a cleaner, a builder and a plumber.
Still had to queue half an hour to get in to Manowar.

Drove past this place yesterday evening, a few blokes in tracksuits were standing outside in doorway, in a cloud of smoke. Enough said.
