Called in on a quiet Saturday afternoon. 3 cask ales on our side of the bar Doom Bar, Fullers HSB & something else were all off, but 2 local Kent brews were on, of which the Caveman was excellent. Great outside area. Would definitely go back if in the area.

Was out walking with a group of people today. We got to this pub and the garden and pub were empty. That's not "not many people" - that's "completely empty - no one there at all". I went to get a couple of pints (etc) to have with our sandwiches which we were planning to eat at the far end of the garden. The sour harridan behind the bar told me they were running a pub, not a picnic site. I could undersdtand that if they were busy they wouldn't want us taking up space that paying punters would use, but when you have no custom whatsoever do you really turn people away?

We stumbled across this pub almost by accident. We had meant to go elsewhere but found the place to be awful. This we found this - a real country pub, sadly becoming a rare breed. The food is traditional English, well-cooked and plenty of it. They do about three real ales, which were well-kept. And it is truly friendly. Added to that, it is a very pretty, not to say ancient, pub. We were a party of 12 people and not noted for throwing praise around. I cannot fault this place. Even while we were there , we were planning our return.

This is my local pub and I can highly recommend it. The new management are doing a great job. Fantastic traditional pub food in a friendly atmosphere!

"I'd thoroughly recommend the establishment"

I bet you would ... that's because you work there.
