From reading below posts I suspect this pub used to be a lot more interesting as it is now a shiny place for well intentioned people.

The pub's own pale ale was alright but the ubiquity of potent IPAs is hardly original in this part of town.

Still better as it is than turned into residential properties.

Set apart from the usual South London trendy pub by the absence of food, I quite liked the beer and atmosphere here, even if it has none of the multiculturalism I might have hoped for. The Ubu was good, though the local keg beets seemed to be selling better. Helpfully told me what real ale was selling best, even if they guessed.

This was my local when I lived in Endymion Road in 2001.

There was a sixty something black man, who used to drink pints of red wine ... I kid you not.

Wonder if he's still there / alive?

We popped into the Elm Park Tavern on Bank Holiday Monday for the first time, and were not disappointed. A really nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly service and plenty of comfy seating making it a great place for a quiet drink and a conversation.

The well-kept drinks included Purity Ubu & Mad Goose and Sambrooks Wandle plus Steigl pilsner. There was no hot food on offer, but frankly, it is refreshing to find a place that just concentrates on doing the basics well offering well-kept drinks in friendly, unfussy surroundings. More power to em!

This place is a unique! It does look like it hasn't seen a lick of paint since the War but that adds to its charm of a backstreet London pub that hasn't been gentrified or turn gastro - a rarity.
Its rough around the edges but the service and atmosphere is friendly. The quiz nights are the best in Brixton and the beer is good too.
You also have to pay visit to experience it!
