| A big multi-roomed pub. It was in this pub that I had my first pint of Holts Bitter, back in the early '80s. Yesterday, afforded an opportunity to visit the pub for only the second time: a nostalgia trip. The pub was cosy and welcoming with a good community atmosphere. Unfortunately the ale was a massive disappointment! The Holts Bitter was very cold, cloudy and had a slightly fruity taste. I asked for and was given another pint, with the observation 'Holts isn't always clear you know'. I suspect the very cold temperature contributed the haze. It didn't taste any better than the first.
