Recommended to us by the guide at the John Taylor Bellfoundry, this is a decent enough pub in a town I probably won't return to. 5 handpulls from the Blue Monkey Brewery (Guerrilla, Marmoset, Mild Monkey, BG Sips and Infinity, most costing just less than £4 a pint and in excellent condition) as well as Anstey's Brewster's Bitter, Castle Rock's Let England Shake and Abbeydale's Cryo Heathen.

An outlet for the Blue Monkey brewery and I have to say that a pint of their Infinity was divine and perfectly kept. There is a good range although some of their advertised offerings including their amaretto chocolate stout were absent which was slightly disappointing. It might also be good to see them make room for a guest. This is an essential stop off in this slightly tired market town..

A Blue Monkey alehouse - had 7 of their beers on and one guest. All I tried were good and it is a decent bar to while away a cold evening in.

The Organ Grinder, along with the White Hart are trailblazing a path that shows there is a market for a good honest pub to succeed, and are probably in the top two or three pubs in Loughborough. The Swan in the rushes has long held the real ale crown, whilst Mr JD Witherspoon will always divide opinion with his amazing range of ale at low prices, but these pair have the balance spot on... I have to say this was a pub destined for closure prior to acquisition by The Blue Monkey Brewery, but is now a thriving, popular pub frequented by most age groups. The pub has a main bar with various nooks and crannies to settle into. Live music from time to time as well. Beers on offer last time I visited were Ape ale, 99 red baboons, Guerilla, Marmoset and a few more, as well as a couple of high quality continental lagers, plus Hogans & Symonds Founders reserve cider. Highly recommended...

Great pub, good atmosphere, friendly locals and well kept beer. Large range of Blue Monkey brews available (as you'd expect) and always a couple of guest ales on that change very regularly.

A nice range of good quality lagers on tap plus a very nice selection of European and American bottled beer round off the collection. Topping that is a small but good quality selection of single malts.

A good honest drinker's pub. Well worth a visit.
