Well, enjoyed this place when I got there.. didn't realise it was such a large building!

Good selection of beers, pool table, dart boards, function room, beer garden with childrens' play area.

Had a tour of the cellar while I was there too... very big cellar and well-kept/clean.

They do food and it is excellent.

The locals seemed fine too, friendly enough anyway... ended up doing karaoke with a few of them!!

This pub has recently been taken over by some friends of mine. They have young children living in the pub themselves so will be family friendly!

They've got years of expereince in the industry and are looking to turn this lame donkey into a great pub again! :-)

Haven't been there yet, but I'm going down tonight to see for myself how they've cleaned the place up...

I was hoping to see a photo.
The one I have is a little over 50years old.
I lived there when my dad was the manager the pub was brand new then. We were the first people in.

What happened to the old landlord? It has lost something since they left. Not kid friendly at all now. What a shame.

Nice pub. Friendly staff. Conveniant location for the nicest park in the town (just over the road and a little to your right). A useful starting place for a pub crawl.
