After a visit to the King Charles Tavern just down the street (not listed on here), I finished off at this branch of Wetherspoons. It feels like a typical branch of the chain. But it was the worst selection of real ales I've seen in any of their branches. Just their staples Sharps Doom Bar, Ruddles Best & Greene King Abbot were on. If it's a Wetherspoons you're after, head to the Hatchet Inn instead.

Unfortunately the always very good 'spoons beer prices are ruined by very rude staff members. Of special note is the barmaid Jess who seems to delight in making customers feel most unwelcome. I've generally felt very comfortable in all 'spoons establishments but alongside The Bear in Maidenhead this has to be one of the worst for customer service.

In this boozer the dolphins were monkeys that didn't like the land walked back to the water went back from the sand.

since they've got the little dwarf fella as bouncer things have picked up. what good he is during a ruck is anyone's guess but gives the boozer a nice hobbiton type vibe.

The kegs are very fruity and so are the clientle! Wetherspoon's first gay bar by all accounts. Backs to the wall men!
