Characterless pub as far as this grumpy is concerned. Lovely for professional people and girls, but not a pub to me. More a wine bar.

I'd personally refuse places like this a license, but it would be a dull world if we were all the same!

Was in The Bull with a large group of friends before a concert at the Empire recently. We'd booked a table for dinner which hadn't been set up when we arrived. We were offered a couple of sofas thrown together at the last minute but, as we were planning to eat, we asked for a proper table to sit down at.

The staff were fantastic. They sorted out a couple of tables with the minimum of fuss and made sure that we had our food in plenty of time for us to get to the concert.

The food was very good, even if the waitress serving it wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and the Bombadier was drinkable.

The pub itself is ok as a haven for stressed shoppers. It has a pleasant enough atmosphere, there's plenty of space to sit down, the beer and food are passable and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Hats off to the staff for sorting things out for us on the night we were there.

Went in here one afternoon during the week to see what it was like. Two bar staff on, both pre-occupied with serving food and ignoring people waiting at the bar. People who walked in after I did eventually got served. I walked out at that point. Just what the bush needs, another characterless pub with shite bar staff.

Some nice decor upstairs but it's a shopping centre bar not a real pub. Wouldn't rush back but it's ok for a couple while the wife is shopping if you get dragged here.

Nice pub with poor service. Adnams Bitter was on the turn on Monday night. Doom Bar ran out by 9pm but bizarrely the girl behind the bar flatly refused to turn round the pump marker in the traditional style to show it wasn't available. Bombardier was the only fresh cask beer left but it was too cold and too expensive - about 3.20 a pint. Comfy chairs on the mezzanine, though.
