The Malt & Apple has now closed and it is some sort of Irish Bar

.....Once The Faulkners, now the Malt & Apple & what a horror story of a pub this has become. Some effort (albeit minimal) has been spent refurbing the interior but with green astro-turf on the floor (tricky after a few pints) & a crummp paint job, it'll struggle. That apart, not one for real alers either although I can't see it being one for anyone @ this rate. Some decent memories up in smoke for me!

I was told Altrincham is a very posh area. This is completely untrue. This pub is the sort of place people go when they have been banned from everywhere else. Most of the customers look like they have just been released from Strangeways. I had one pint and left never to return.

I was here at about 2.00pm last Saturday and no trouble then but a bit early for that anyway
A nice little locals pub and the service was good from a friendly barman.
3 hand pumps but only one in use for Marstons Pedigree with was in very good condition and sold for a very reasonable 2.30 a pint.

This place seems to be back under new management, They have a poster outside offering discounted beers so it could be worth a visit now that Altrincham's rudest man is no longer at the helm!
