After a walk from Storey Arms over Pen y Fan was delighted to find this very nice village pub. The service was friendly and the beer good (Wye Valley Bitter and one other I've forgotten). Comfortable, cosy interior; highly recommended all round.

We arrived wet and cold from a walk on nearby Pen Y Fan on a Wednesday afternoon in January to be greeted by huge log fire and excellent pint of Wye Valley. There were a few locals in there too, but surely a good sign for village pub, and no problem getting served.

Expect to be treated as a second class citizen if you are not a regular.

If you get over that hurdle, it's quite a good pub, in a nice location, with good beer.

This could be a great pub if they would only get over their parochial (locals only) attitude. I mean, nobody actually speaks Welsh in there!

Attractive looking pub, serves 3 real ales the Wye Valley bitter being very quaffable. Got a bit stared at by the locals when arriving but it seems you have to expect that if you are off the beaten track in Wales. Landlord seemed initially indifferent to our presence and went on serving his mates, but on the second night seemed a lot more friendly and service was better. The place was packed probably due to it being the only half decent boozer in the surrounding vicinity. (don't bother with the dire Butchers Arms up the road). Not bad but not great either.
