| Early C18 inn, possibly with earlier origins, situated on the River Clyst with a fabulous view towards Exeter. The historic interior is nationally recognised as being of significant importance. The front and rear entrances both open into a panelled corridor with horizontal boarding that connects the Snug, Parlour and Tap Room. We had the Snug to ourselves last Thursday evening after it got too cold to sit outside. No indoor service whilst we were there; instead the gravity-dispensed ale was served through the stable door of the cellar. I tried the Branscombe Vale Branoc (£4.80 a pint) as well as the Firkin Life Saver (£5) but didn't try the BV Summa' That or the Hanlon's Citra. paul_d102 - 12 Aug 2025 18:41 |
