I have stayed here twice now and it has been a pleasure on both occasions. The pub is basic, to be honest it is not visibly impressive. It is a bit run down but that is made up for by it being warm, inviting and comfortable. There are 3 ales available but the small bar area means there is a lack of bottled options from the fridge. It is very handy for visitors to the Severn Valley railway and the accommodation is clean and functional. .

Visited The Unicorn again on our annual Family and Friends day out. We were well looked after by the friendly staff - nothing seems to be too much trouble even when they are busy. There are 2 bars , the front room is the plainer of them but the rear bar has a wood burning stove , pool table and 4 ales on hand pull. (2 from Banks and 2 local brews) Beer a bit pricey but well kept. the food is good pub grub - nothing more , nothing less and is also reasonably priced. The pub serves the Camp site it sits on and I expect is very busy during the holidays , it is also a short walk from The Severn Valley railway station at Hampton Loade. Will go again.

Visited the Unicorn on a fishing recce last week. Loved the pub and was made to feel very welcome. Food was very good and large portions. So impressed with the place and hospitality from the manager Dave we have booked for a couple of weeks B&B in July and September next year.

Basic but interesting - Carlurmston (below) mustn't have ventured into the OTHER bar in the back of the pub - much cosier and intimate seating arrangements.Only Banks's and Pedigree on the pumps, but the staff were helpful when we enquired about the campsite. May well return for a full weekend, not just a day trip./recce!

My Partners birthday today. Visited the pub via severn valley railway. Had dinner. Steak and chips with all the trimmings. The steak was so tender it could be cut with a plastic knife. I have mine rare, my partner well done. Both were excellant and not over priced, real chips too!
They had sky sports, so we could follow the footy. Dave and Carol run the pub, Carol said she buys the meat locally from a reliable source.
An hours jouney by car and 5 miles via the train from Bridgnorth. The weather was awful but Carols radiant hospitality made the day. Food and beer did too! Partner said it was great. The pub is not noted for its food but for its quality , it should be. We well be going again.
