user reviews of the Foxlydiate Arms, Redditch

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Terrible service, lousy food, and generally depressing. The only good thing about this place is the view you can get of the Malvern Hills, where the atmospheric conditions are right. Avoid unless you have to go there!

Went to the 'Fox' last night with my friend. She ordered liver & bacon in a giant
yorkshire pudding 6.99. It arrived not just warm but actually fridge cold. Obviously whoever was operating the microwave that night was in a hurry. Billed as being topped with crispy bacon which in actual fact had been microwaved in with the liver and all the other ingredients. The Yorkshire was OK, the mash was far from creamy as described. So we sent it back only to have it returned less than five minutes later having been nuked. My Chicken Tikka Masala was served with rice which again had been reheated in the microwave and was dried out and crunchy, the naan was inedible having the consistancy of cardboard. The small bowl of Tikka tasted nice but accompanied by the rest left me dissapointed. Staff were indifferent, offered no apology or explanation and so we did not persue the matter.
I have been going to the Foxlydiate on a fairly infrequent basis for eighteen years and whilst the food could never be classed as gourmet has always been value for money. I will not return here for food again.

Large barn of mediocracy. Noisy children and depressing atmosphere. I would have given it ten out of ten but have eaten in too many outlets to realise this is just another hum drum pub which allows the public to satisfy hunger and drink away their insecurities..

Became one of the Brewers Fayre sometime ago and it was refurbished into a bright, spacious pub/restaurant. My favourite place (other than Yates)to eat at present. The largest beer garden I've ever seen. Great food with Nectar points too. If you fancy sleeping over its part of a well known hotel chain too.
