i went for a celebration drink as i not been out in 8 months, due to my operation in jan, 09, but i went out friday, and wanted to go in the walkabout bar, i was celebrating with just my girlfriend , as i had the all clear from cancer,i would say i was not drunk and my gf was not , i work for greater manchester police and my gf is a nurse, we were having a brill night till it got ruined due to one of the bouncers had a right atttitude with us and didnt let us in, if only he knew what we were celebrating, we are not vilent people and we dont cause trouble, the walkabout now has lost our custom for life , i will never step foot in there again, its a shame cause it can be good in there, or well, poor staff customer service, no custom......

Very slow and poor service, expect to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes to be served. Bar staff have no idea about manners, I was told that I would not be served in the middle section of the bar along with 6 more people were stood in this section, only after asking why he was not serving did I find out the the centre 1/3 of the bar was unstaffed on a Saturday night. I commeted about the poor service and excessive force was used to remove me from the premises. Staff refused to let me speak to the manager or even give me his name. I only had 2 drinks all night and was treated as if drunk. Security staff use excessive force. Only go to this pub if you don't mind a very long wait to be served and be charged different prices for each of the 2 indentical rounds I bought. I would rate this pub as 2/10

i think the bar has some good points such as the layout, but the trashey live bands and the ignorence of people really put me off! I don't think i'd ever bother going in again, there are so many bars to choz from in town that im dont think i could ever become a regular in one, i much prefer spectrum in ashton than anywhere else, rating 5/10

Excellent Place for a night out, 6 of us (all FHM High Street Honeys Talent Spotters) stayed the weekend there, met and spoke to many beautifull females from all over the country, would love to pay it another visit soon. Can anyone remember the shirt and tie lads on the night of The Ricky Hatton Fight? October 1st 2004? that was us. Highly recommend the hotel if your there for the night! would love to hear from people we met that night email us at [email protected]
