Still a ponced up grockle parlour. Beers were either St Austel or Exmoor, neither of which were notable. They even have a baby grand piano in the dining area; how poncy is that for a pub in a small Somerset village?

Would-be gastro pub situated incongruously on the western edge of the Quantocks. Seems to be some tie with St Austell as the only beers they have nowadays are Tribute and Proper Job, drinkable but kept too cold and nothing special. Food looked like standard pub fare with a gastro price tag. Service at the bar was slow even though they weren't especially busy. There's a Sawday sticker on one window declaring it to be a "special place to eat and drink"; I saw nothing special whatsoever. How about getting some Quantock Brewery ales and some proper cider? The Quantocks are crying out for a decent walkers' pub; a ponced up grockle parlour is the last thing we need.

As always good food friendly staff and the beer in good nick. A bit of atmoshere is lost by separating the bar from the dining area and it is not the warmest place in Winter.

A great pub, excellent food and both friendly and good service. Nine of my family enjoyed Sunday lunch to celebrate with my Aunt who was 80 today.
As my aunt is disabled we sought help with seating arrangements and nothing was to much trouble. Many of my party chose and enjoyed the roast beef, although those that ate the liver, salmon and the vegetarian mushroom risotto were all equally impressed. The desserts were great as were the wine and beers.
Good mix of mature staff and lovely young people with energy to serve quickly and very pleasant. All this enhanced by the attention to detail of the interior decor and the beauty of the location. We will return and recommend you visit.
