I avoided the place early in the evening as the place did have a lower class of clientele than the rest of Abingdon but in the end I gave it a try.I'm glad I did really because it was a nice traditional pub and the locals were not that bad but given some of the areas I've lived in most areas seem better. Also the big Irish fella behind the bar had clearly seen more rougher people than a few Abingdon chavs who think being on the dole, smoking spliffs and having a few pints while their kids run amok makes them gangsters and wasn't taking any nonsense.
Another one to give a try and ignore previous comments.

I would love to know what attracts people to this pub. The beer is terrible and the atmosphere is not great, especially if you are not a local face. But, it was busy so they are obviously doing something right!!

Music at full blast. Beer OK - not good just OK. Place was crowded (Sat. lunchtime) so it has a following but there are far better pubs in the town.

Chavy pub for chavy people. Avoid unless you are one!

Bit of a dive. No food. Three handpumps, only one functioning. Beer was OK.
Customers all seemed to be foulmouthed, with eff as every second word. They all seemed to be lager drinkers.
Noisy "music".

There must be better boozers than this in Abingdon (or indeed anywhere).
