Good solid British style pub. Small but we'll kept beer selection. Nice but expensive food. Friendly and efficient staff. Right by the station so ultra convenient for the train home. Slightly more expensive than the whetherspoons round the corner, but no kids, a great mix of 80s/90s music and not too noisy - apart from Thursday/Friday after work crowds.

Popped in yesterday for a quick beer and a fix of sport on TV. Cricket, then rugby on the main screen and TV in the smaller back room.
3.60 for a decent pint of Olde Trip - one of two ales on tap. Not as good a selection as the White Hart opposite, but they didn't have the TVs on.
Being part of a hotel, the toilets were some of the poshest I have ever encountered in a pub.
Probably not a place to stay for a session, but serves a purpose.

This is a great bar situated within the hotel itself but open to the public. I only go there to watch sports as it has a fantastic big screen and shows most cricket matches unlike nearly all other pubs in London which are obsessed with football. I agree with drunkmarv that it's not a place to spend the whole evening but it is ideal for watching sports in an upmarket bar with prices that are roughly the same as regular pubs in the area. It can get a bit crowded but no more so than any bar when big sporting events are on. Overall, a good find for the cricket fan!

Consensus seems to suggest that it ain't as bad as the Hamilton Hall. Well, that is very true, but think on... Would you rather spend your hard earned on two pints in a fetid wetherspoons beer canteen with the down and outs, or would you rather have one pint in a gutted out, stripped down and ponced up bar with the loud and preening Cityrati.

... or do you just move on to somewhere better?

Been in here a couple of times, mainly to watch the football. Not the largest pub in the world and it's almost impossible to navigate when it's full but it's decent enough.
