please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited during the annual brass band contest, so definitely not a 'normal' evening. The Robinson's Unicorn was in excellent condition, but pricey at 2.70 a pint. Service - on a very busy evening - was efficient and friendly. Will certainly pay another visit.

Possibly the most expensive pub in Tameside on my recent visit the charm exuded by the Grumpy landlord only added to what became a disappointing experience. If you want a laugh -read the restaurant menu, the descriptions of the dishes dont do the actually food any justice. My only positive note is that th cheese & Onion pie is lovely

Where else could you go on a Monday night to see THE Jack Duckworth doing a turn.

Couldn't believe that The Broadoak wasn't already listed. It's a lovely old building (black and white timbers). The first ever edition of 'Gardeners' Question Time' was broadcast from here. Inside there's a comfortable bar area with good bar snacks and well-kept Robinson's beers. Friendly staff. There's a restaurant area too- excellent food at reasonable prices. The place is spotless- I always do a 'loo' test! They even have accommodation for 25 per night.
Well recommended
