Twice this summer I have walked over the Devils Dyke and each time gone to the pub for a beer only to be greeted by a queue of about 20 people waiting to order food. I asked if there was a separate area for just buying a pint but was told I would also have to queue up.
This is a joke of a pub and I will never attempt to buy a drink there again. There again it is 'run' by Greedy King so nuff said. Also tables not cleared and were dirty.

Visited this place after a walk around Devils Dyke. Beer prices average, with seating inside and outside. However. lots of uncollected glasses and bottles outside, and inside grubby, sticky and dusty tables. Decided not to eat there.

I had a very pleasant surprise last week when I went to this pub. It has been refurbished and the improvement is immense. It no longer has the corporate feel, but is cosy and welcoming. We had a bite to eat which was excellent and priced fairly competitively the beer was good.

There is a bar area now where you can take your dog which is so much like common sense and because of this, we will be visiting far more often as we often combine a dog walk with a pint.

Well worth a visit for the pub alone, let alone the stunning views.

Couple of facts.
1) I am not old
2) I am certainly not sad or twisted
3) Pubs are not for lids regardless of time of day

Take your offspring to a wacky warehouse if you must, leave the decent pubs kid free.
