Well it has 6.0 now, a nice venue although food and service leaves much to be desired, poor attitude by our waitress, she obvioulsy had better things to do with her time. Desserts were supermarket quality, fish was boney over cooked and oily and deep fried rocket??? Chicken pate tasted very much of Pork pate, when I said I didnt want the pate after one small taste I was still charged after complaining twice. Were charged twice for drinks luckily that was reimbursed. I would stay well clear of this place if you are a foodie. If you want to have a drink at your local this place will do.

So why has this pub only got 6.4 out of 10?
I agree with other reviews, excellent food and beer and freindly staff. A gem.

We have just held a club dinner, what a great pub it is, wonderful food, with very big portions, great value for the money. We were made very welcome and spoilt by the very friendly and efficient staff. Can't wait to find another excuse to return.

This is a great pub. I had my engagement meal there and they made the whole thing really special. I had the largest starter I have ever seen, the mackerel was amazing. All the food was great, the staff friendly and an atmosphere which makes you always want to stay for 'just one more' Thank you to everyone there.

Four of us went here just before christmas for a meal. We all struggled to decide what to have as the choice on the menu was so good. Food was faultless. Great service. If you intend to go there specifically for the food, it's best to get a table upstairs if possible because it has a proper restaurant feel. You'll need to book way in advance though. Beer is kept well. However, because this place is now well known for its food, the main bar downstairs feels like you're drinking in a cafe.
