A great pub. Fantastic real ales. Didn't eat there but overheard 2 conversations about how good the food is. Definitely on my list to go back soon.

Having first visited The Ship Inn 26 years ago when it was a lovely country pub with first-class beer & food, we've witnessed its diminishing appeal over the last few years... until now. The current owners, since March '06, have made and are still making real improvements. The beer (Exmoor, Cotleigh & St Austell) is well kept and the food delicious. New furniture in the main bar & an impressive patio area have improved it enormously. We really like the cosy 'snug bar'. We're going back for a weekend in June (all the way from Essex) and I strongly recommend 'drew19' gives it another go. He'll be pleasantly surprised. It's the best of the 3 pubs in the village.

The Ship Inn Hotel, Porlock
Just enjoyed the weekend in Porlock. There were 20 in our party and we spent Saturday evening in The Ship Inn for a pre-arranged celebratory 50th birthday meal. The ales (Exmoor / Tribute / Otter + 2 more) were all in good condition. The food was excellent. The landlord & his wife and all the staff worked very hard to ensure we all had a great time. We also spent Saturday & Sunday lunchtimes in there for beer & food. I really like the cosy little bar. A proper country pub feel to it. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm next in the village. I can highly recommend it.
