Lloyds No. 1 Bar in the centre of Cheltenham. It had a good selection of ales and ciders. I was looking forward to seeing what they had as part of their cider festival. The range was good. Although one of the ciders that was advertised as available could not be found. Ales were Thornbridge Jaipur, Salopian Shropshire Gold, Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold, Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best, North Cotswold Shaglayer, Brewsters Aromantica & Sadlers Hop Bomb. Ciders that were actually available were Westons Old Rosie, Mr Whiteheads Apples & Pears, Bottle Kicking Cider Company Raspberry & Pomegranate & Perrys Somerset Redstreak. An above average branch of Wetherspoons.

Typical spoons pub. You know you're going to get ok food at a good price. Surprisingly quiet on a rainy saturday lunchtime - no queue at the bar and food came really quickly. Burgers and mixed grill were all good. Didn't sample the beer (although there was a good range) as had consumed a fair quantity the night before - the coffee was good though! Toilets clean and the general pub area was in good condition with interesting decor

Not a bad pub, however...

I agree with Porkling that the tables at the front having gone is a shame; it was an excellent place to watch the rats try to get through the front door from the stream nearby (no joke, not at all).

The arrogant little manager who refuses to give his name when you want to make a complaint is still there.

Cheltenhams only Wetherspoons provides almost the only place in the town where a pint can be bought at a sensible price, quite a nicely designed pub, large having been a car showroom years ago, comfortable inside with a small garden to the rear overlooking a park, for some reason all the tables and chairs at the front have gone which is a shame as I quite enjoyed sitting with a pint and watching the world go by. Never the less excellent for those who want decent food and well served beer at a realistic price.

Late review from November. Had a couple of beers from festival and were not the best I have had. Not the best kept Wetherspoons I have been to either.
