| 4/11/2008: This pub has been under new management for over a year now. The landlord is well known for doing a lot for the local community (running the local football team and organising charity events) and has done a great job of banning trouble-makers, improving the food and drinks selections (good value, nice meals available), enhancing the entertainment available in the form of pool, darts, skittles, widescreen TVs showing live sports, and regular live music, and generally making this pub a very pleasant place to visit. I first moved to the area at the same time the management changed, and the transformation is truly remarkable. If you've not been in the last year, it's well worth a visit now.
