Really nice friendly pub, we visited on a Saturday on our way to Huish park (Yeovil FC) to watch MK Dons. A good selection of reasonably priced beers, the landlord did his very best to organise a taxi for us as the town was a long walk, but when he was told the earliest we could get a taxi was in one and a half hours time he gave us a lift his self, not a bad gesture, specially as there was six of us and he had to make two journeys. We will definitely visit again!

Apparently open again after planning permission for change of use fell through. A visit will be made soon.

This pub did reopen for a while, but has now closed again. The 'For Sale' sign says that, subject to permission, it could be a building plot. Shame if another pub was lost - one would have thought the twin villages of Barwick and Stoford could support a pub - if it is a good one of course. I was never over impressed with this place, but thought it could be OK.

Now, apparently, CLOSED.

A very average country pub that appears to have had the traditional heart ripped out of it during a 1960's refit and has received little in the way of TLC since. Surly barmaid did nothing to make us welcome and the Butcombe was not particularly well kept. The place badly needs a strong injection of enthusiasm - shame because it could be a lot better.
