The Albion isn't the Albion now, a great couple and their son and daughter in law have reopened the place as the Drayton Gate. Good cocktails, super service and great food

The worst of 10 pubs we tried in Shropshire on Saturday. That's not to say that this is a particularly bad pub. In fact, it's very handy for the station in Wem and the staff were friendly. The only beer on was Youngs Bitter. The other handpulls looked a little forlorn. The bar is reasonably large and there is a covered outdoor area for drinking. Ok, but nothing spectacular.

In here last Saturday and OK if waiting for a train.
Just outside the Station but still not open till 2 on Saturday.
Not many trains stop here to be fair.
3 Hand pulls 1 for Youngs Bitter and Doom bar turned round.

Pleasant enough barman and the beer was OK, but every pint he pulled had a head of froth an inch or more deep and they were not oversized glasses! Nobody said a word and there was no offer to top up. They must be raking in a small fortune! No food for 2 weeks at the moment , so moved on to the Old Post Office and The Castle - see comments for these.
