| Happened to be staying overnight in the area. Called in on the basis of recent(ish) reviews. What a mistake!! See comments posted on The Castle. They are obviously so desperate for clientelle that they were selling beer at �1.50 and �2.20 a pint. The clientelle it attracts were the dregs as was the beer. I rarely leave beer, but I did this time. Told the "barmaid" what I thought of it - she said "that's a shame" and disappeared outside for a fag! | This pub is under new ownership and boy can't you tell!!!! The place is spacious and clean with Home cooked food being served Thursday - Sunday, I have been in a few times( since the take over in September) during the week and weekends and I must say that the food has alway's been very good. The staff are friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Well worth a visit ( Home cooked yorshire's are the best ) Well Done !!!!! gruffalo - 24 May 2011 23:15 |
