user reviews of the Pheasant Inn, Stone

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Pheasant was the first pub we visited on an evening out in Stone. It's a traditional backstreet local away from the town centre. There was a fairly relaxed atmosphere. Marston's Pedigree was supplemented by Purity Pure Gold, Morland Old Speckled Hen & Sharp's Doom Bar.

A very nice traditional multi roomed pub with central bar serving into public bar with dart board through separate door on right as you go in and onto lounge bar on left and straight on past the bar a further room through. Very nice chatty pub early on Saturday night and really enjoyed the Wye Valley HPA. Very enjoyable hopefully will be back.

Dave Smithwick, former licencee of Langtry's down the road, took over the Pheasant 18 months ago and has transformed the place! Marston's Pedigree, Wye Valley HPA and Bank's Original are always superb. Thriving darts and dominos teams plus lively banter from the landlord! It's now become my local so I'm probably biased but it's in the Good Beer Guide 2011 so others must agree with me. Seriously this is a brilliant corner terraced boozer, unspoilt by too much progress, selling cracking beer. Put it on your crawl next time you're in Stone.

cracking pub. Seperate rooms, friendly staff (Even to the point of bringing the kids summat to play with) and excelent ale.
