I went in here for the first time last week and won't be rushing back. The music was really bad and blaring, the decor was average but the service was absoutely awful.

The first tme at the bar despite there being no one else waiting took an eternity to get served. Once served I was short changed by a fiver and had to argue with the barman before he 'gave me the benefit of the doubt' and begrudgingly gave me the rest of my change. No problem with the barman making a mistake but his attitude was shocking...

This place is partly responsible for me losing my V plates many years ago, but we won't go into that.

Very reasonably priced cocktails (2-4-1, think on Thursday only) and a very unique atmosphere make Bertie's an interesting place to visit.

Would quite happily always pop in there for 1 if doing a crawl around Wimbledon. Much prefer it to the Prince Charles situated above.

I wonder what it's like on a Friday evening these days?

This pub used to be so welcoming, sadly no more. Since the new year its undergone a renovation, which should be welcome, but the blaring music every night of the week, day-glow red "pimp decor" and suspiciously young drinkers hanging out in the courtyard entrance makes it seems like a cheap disco in Corfu. Some of the women from my work used to go in there for a quick glass of wine once a week but not now. One to avoid. There are much better places in Wimbledon for a quick drink and a chat with your friends.

This bar has improved tenfold in the past year or so - the staff are as efficient as they can be behind the tiny bar and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The outside furniture has changed from rickety benches to tables and chairs, so its a much nicer place to have a drink in the sun. The drinks selection has certainly improved too, with a cocktail list now available. Also, they have some sort of live entertainment almost every evening and a monthly comedy night that I will definately go to again...

Not great but one of the better of a bad bunch in Wimbledon. Kicking out time on the streets there on Friday or Saturday nights is reminiscent of a scene from 28 Days Later. Barman was efficient when I cam in here a couple of weeks ago. Beer was a bit hit and miss. Go to The Sultan if you want a more traditional pub in W'don with decent ale.
