Serves an excellent pint of Guinness - at £2.90 a pint during the ''happy hour'' that runs through the day until 4pm. No real ale and not much else to be said. 5/10.

This is a great pub in the Irish quarter of Birmingham. You'll not find top quality real ales or the like but you will get a decent pint of lager or an excellent Guinness.

On entry the bar is to the right and runs a decent lenght. Its been modernised and is the sort of bar you can expect to see in a stylish night club.

there is a small drinking area near to the bar usually inhabited by the regular Irishmen who spend their days staggering around the Digbeth boozers.

The pub then opens out into a reasonable size dance area to the rear of which are located the toilets.

During the day there are usually a handful of staunch irishmen who can regail you with amusing anecdotes or with whom you can set the world to rights. In the evening the pub becomes a lively post work bar. At weekends during the day it is busy especially on match days then of an evening it moves into a nightclub type of venue. It also provides a convenient place to meet for pre gig drinks for the HMV academy next door.

The bouncers wear gloves, presumably so the punches don't leave any fingerprints.

Not a beer tickers pub, more of a Broad Strret establishment transported to Digbeth. Expect it could be quite lively in the early hours and if you wanted a barney it`d be available......from the wenches who frequent the place! If you`ve got a bit about yourself then you`d probably like this venue.
