Nice friendly pub, good beer, great garden (huge, nicely landscaped and well maintained). Huge car park just across the road as well.

various "rooms" within the pub, although a bit cramped on a rainy evening. perfect for a summers day, just like The Swan up the road :)

Butcombe owned pub, better run than some of theirs (they have had some shockers) probably because the team that run and serve, seem to have been here longer than some Butcome Pubs.

Dropped in without warning for lunch, in a group of seven.

Butcomber Bitter was a perfect 10 and the quality and value for money of the food was excellent. Just pub fair but well done. At the price impossible to fault.

Nice old building. Large car park other side of road.

There were plenty of diners on a weekday lunchtime. Tells its own story.

If only all Butcombe pubs were so consistently good. The absolute KEY is good staff, kept happy by reasonable management.

Popped in here during a walk on Sunday around lunch time. Butcome beer was excellent. Staff welcoming and found somewhere for us to enjoy their excellent Sunday lunch. Unsuprisingly very popular location for both beer and food. Would be happy if this was my local.

Charming Butcombe pub, attractive old building with a cosy interior and a pleasant atmosphere inside with a mix of clientele (ie diners and drinkers). 4 ales on tap - Butcombe Gold and bitter, London Pride and... another which escapes me. The - becoming ubiquitous but rarely served how it should be - Butcombe bitter was in top class 10/10 condition and was a reminder of what a good beer it is when served in good nick. Mrs D wants to comment on the fact that the bar staff were friendly and polite. Food was also very good. One to return to.

Visited on a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon, so had a meal in the Garden. Everything was fine, lovely old pub, well kept gardens, packed to the rafters, there was a visiting Danish Football team all having a meal too. The food is good and the beer very drinkable, though no guests available on the day.
