Decent locals pub. Enjoyed a pint of Butcombe Gold in very good condition. Other ales on my visit included Doom Bar, Marston Burton Bitter and GK Abbot Ale. Friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. I've heard it changed hands about twelve months ago. Well worth a visit. 8/10.

I very rarely leave comments about pubs. They are, after all, all different and what might appeal to one might not appeal to another. However this pub is exceptional for all the wrong reasons. Go for a laugh, it's the faulty towers of pubs. Every thing from moving a stool to having ice in your cider is either against the law or against the owner's unique health and safety interpretation. ITS THE LAW, ITS THE LAW. Food good, pub rubbish.

Couldn't agree more with the previous comments. Such a shame because this could be a really nice pub if the landlord actually liked his customers (or at least tried to be congenial). An attempt at pouring a full pint (or at least with more beer than head) wouldn't go amiss either. Nice food at fair prices.

Reasonable beer although they insist on getting every last drop from each barrel even when you can see the beer's not up to standard. Reasonable food with good special offers. These offers change frequently so double check before ordering. Unfortunately there's one big drawback that completely spoils an otherwise good pub - the landlord is a nightmare who is totally obsessed with petty rules and regulations which he enforces with undue rigour.

A great pub serving good home cooked food and quality real ales. Is on the rail ale trail but is not open till 2pm Monday-Thursday and 1pm Friday,Saturday. Not sure about Sunday's but might be worth checking out. Landlord was very friendly as we came in and recomended some beers which were on top form.
