Paid my second visit to this place recently, but I don’t seem to have filed a report of my first trip. The first thing that struck me was how large this place was – and how empty ! I have a feeling that it’s a student bar, and Saturday lunchtime isn’t a peak period. The selection of ales was down from my last visit, and now had 4 handpumps available with another couple out of use. Can’t remember exactly what was on tap, but it can’t have been very interesting as I was reduced to having Pedigree ! Although a small frontage on the road, the place seems to go back and back and depending on which direction you head in you might come across, an enclosed courtyard / smoking area, a pool table, or a DJ mixing desk. I’m afraid to say, most of the seating has seen better days.

Food is available, and appears to be “burger led”. I didn’t try it, and am reluctant to do so in future.

The girl who served was pleasant enough, but I got a right telling off from the landlady for looking for the gents in totally the wrong place. I just followed the sign which said “toilet” ...

5/10 – not exactly bad, just unexciting

Hey! Soco1982! There was a dink in the carpet that caused the unfortunate stumble. Maybe that bit of carpet had caused some other souls to fall a*se over t*t. Nothing to do with beer clearly.........

visited here with 2 mates last thursday, slightly worse for wear so can't comment too much on the cleanliness although the atmosphere seemed decent even though the pub was quiet. One of my mates did however stumble at the bar and end up on the floor - nobody batted an eyelid which probably tells you about the clientele that frequent this place!

Went back to this pub after a few years and I have to say I am outraged. As somebody who used to frequent this joint I now find the staff rude and defiant. The "bar maid" gave me the wrong change (A very simple amount) albeit a silly mistake, 1 that I wasn't that fussed about until she got rude with me and I had to wait over 15 minutes at the bar to get this sorted (She wasn't even serving during the full length of this time period) Que more rudeness from her and no apology from the manager however I did get my change back - eventually. I'm not going here again.

if you are thinking of running an event i would not consider this venue as i have found that out the hard way!!!. the landlord i fount to be extremely rude i have never had to deal with someone so rude in my life i run a charity event for oxfam and fount out that the pub had sold tickets i gave them to sale for the event but had kept the money as well as not keeping to a deal of 10% of bar takings going to the curse as well as just not keeping to any agreements they had made. this is bad enough but when its charity what as been ripped off its just discussing
