user reviews of the Lord Nelson, Wantage

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Erm, well what can I say, it's a Hungry Horse family pub. Zero atmosphere, no nice ales, loads of kids and deep-fried offerings.
One of the few eating places in Wantage however where you can by a reasonable tasting steak and a bottle of Austrlian Cabernet Shiraz for under 15, so I am tempted now and again.

A Greene King pub that sells food that is microwaved rubbish. Good value to feed the kids on a budget. There is nothing to complement this establishment except it is on the way home after the Point to Point each year.

It says it's a "Free House" on the sign. They're obviously too embarrassed to admit that this is yet another pub that can only sell Greene King's appalling beer. Food's not bad though!

When kingalfred said "great food" I suspect he meant "reasonably priced fodder".
