The Star has changed hands again, now run by Sally, Andrew and their son, Jack. The welcome is warm and genuine

Although limited to Mcmullens beers, the quality has improved significantly (AK and Country) with a guest being Bard (haven't tried it) and prices remain reasonable (£3.25 for AK).

The food is also very reasonable, with main courses starting at about £4.75 and it's all fresh, home cooked produce.

The pub (and kitchen) is now open daily from 12 am until late evening (not sure about final closing times, but it is about 11.30).

PS - it isn't my pub, but it is my local! Give a try

Only had McMullens Country Bitter and AK but no guest ale on which was a bit disappointing. Pub hasn't changed much in years. Have tried the food but that was many moons ago so can't really comment.

Always made to feel welcome with a nice friendly atmosphere, Food was expensive, but now seems to reflect the real world. Beer! Well! The real Ales are always good and go down well. Amazing how the few complain! Yet never there to support anything! I wonder why? Well done to Judith for all she has achieved. Keep it up Judith you cant please them all. Smile X
