A rather third-rate wannabe-gastropub. Nice building but the cider is average at best, food is poor and the portions stingy in the extreme. Nasty aroma of hydrocarbons from the gas fire in the ancient inglenook! Oh, and watch out for the very amiable pub dog's droppings in the garden and car park... All in all, I cannot honestly recommend this place.

Lovely olde worlde pub, friendly landlady, food quite average, beer ok.

Nice interesting old pub. Typical west country village affair. Very pretty and a nice garden too. Beer from Badger brewery (Hall & Woodhouse) was more than adequate, food above average but only just.

Good pub serving Badger beer which is an excellent pint. They do decent food as well in a good atmosphere.

Nice 'olde worlde' village pub with a reputation for good food. Very warm welcome even though it was very busy tonight (Valentine's Day). Only one ale on this evening - Badger - well kept, if not my favourite. The food was better than average (but not outstanding) and extra Brownie points for the menu which is more adventurous than general pub grub fare. The stilton and pear starter could have done with more than a few small crumbs of stilton. The bream was very nice if a tad overcooked, but the accompanying risotto would have been far better cooked with arborio or carnaroli rice rather than quick cook long grain. Nevertheless an overall 6/10 and we'll probably be back.
