user reviews of Swan, Stanway

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Appalling service, dire food and filthy dirty. If that's your idea of a good night out, enjoy. We decided to give it a second try after a poor evening the first time and it was worse.
They could not get the food order right and were very surly when we asked them to correct things. We waited well over an hour for our incorrect meals to arrive. When we finally got the food we had ordered, it was not cooked properly (one of our dishes had ice crystals in the middle) and after sending back the second time we realised we were on a hiding to nothing and left. The place needs a complete change of staff, a deep clean and a fresh attitude.

Still a good pub and a cheap eater, tho service is slow even when it is quiet, rather understaffed. Loos could do with an update. Has outside playing area for children in the summer. The local drinkers keep to their bit and the food eaters keep to their bit and that's that. Good quiz on a Tuesday tho not so good if you didn't know about it and were expecting a nice quiet meal. I swear one time I visited there was a man who looked exactly like Michael Douglas in his Romancing the Stone days, almost identical! Is pretty good if you don't have much money but agree with the below comment on the chips!
