New management. Friendly enough though and not prejudiced against drinkers. Ale not in the best condition on my visit. Food very nice quality but at the top end price-wise and meagre portions.

Friendly and efficient service, although there were only two ales available on the handles (clip on another handle was turned around) my pint was in very good condition and the spiced parsnip soup was delicious. Many tables were reserved, there is another bar to the rear and further tables which were at a lower level to the left when entering. A busy pub/restaurant which was obviously popular when we were there.

umm... still great for service, beer fine but limited to Badger (no guest ale) and the offering never changes which is a shame with so many good ales out there locally. May be a 'tie' issue? Food still good but the menu never varies so i will have to look elsewhere for a while unti they change things a bit.

Just revisted for sunday lunch - due to weather (at the time of my visit) they had not had there usual food delivery so lunch was a bit scratch but a decent effort (and they did warn us of the limited menu). Ale (Sussex) was excellent and the service and atmosphere first claas too.

A fine pub that remains a pub that does food rather than the other way round. Very friendly staff and owners, Badger based ales all round, excellent fish and chips - up there with the best of the gastro pub folks for this sort of dish - fresh and incredibly fast service. The menu is not exactly inspiring otherwise - the place is still a basic pub that is doing all the right things in terms of service and practicality. The havent ripped out the pub it is still standard carpet, dark wood classic furniture, stuff hanging from rafters sort of place. An example of how to bring a pub into the modern era without ripping its heart out. Recommended.
